Q: How do I know what courses you offer and when they are available?
A: Just go to the main menu and select “Cooking Classes” or click here. You will select your classes and shortly you will receive an answer about date availability.
Q: How are you different from the other cooking schools/ cooking classes offered in the area?
A: Firstly you are taught in a professional friendly atmosphere in an authentic cooking school setting. Mr. Stefano Corvucci, your chef/instructor was trained as an attorney at Bologna University but put that career on hold to pursue his real passion of preparing authentic Bolgonese dishes based on recipes handed down by local Bolgonesi people over the last one hundred years. All our chefs are professionals and most have worked in local restaurants.
Secondly Stefano believes it is his personal pleasure to pass on his knowledge and skills so that you will become an ambassador of good taste for his beloved city of Bologna. He and his staff will teach you how to cook like a Nonna (grandma) on the one hand but will also teach you the “restaurant secrets” of restaurant presentation- “you eat with your eyes”.
At the core of learning at CIBO is the philosophy “We don’t just teach recipes, we teach techniques.” After attending CIBO cooking lessons you will be able to apply the cooking knowledge you obtained to every area of cooking. The old proverb of “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for life” holds true here at CIBO. As you stir each pot, mix each ingredient, you will learn the what, why and when of each step. This knowledge will generalize to all your cooking tasks, so you will leave CIBO as a competent, creative cook. Q: Do you offer vegan classes? Will you consider my allergies or food restrictions in recipe selection?
A: Absolutely YES. We are very flexible and able to accommodate any guest who would like to come to class but needs the menu adjusted to fit their dietary needs. Q: What program do you offer for my spouse/significant other if he or she doesn’t want to cook?
A: We can arrange for activities outside the class for your spouse/friends. If they would like to come to eat what the class has cooked it is available at E25/person and is listed as the last item on our course listings

Q: How do I sign up for a cooking class?
A: Browse the classes, select which one(s) you like and check for availability. Once you fill out your request you will receive an answer to availability and be given instructions on payment.We will ask for a small deposit and the remainder is paid when you come to class in Italy.
Q: How long is a cooking class?
A: Unless otherwise noted, classes are approximately 2-8 hours in length depending on the course. We can recommend and/or book hotels for you in Bologna. Browse the classes
Q: Can anyone take a class at CIBO?
A: Yes, as long as they are 10 years & older (and accompanied by a paid adult). Children pay 1/2 of the listed prices. Kids ( A child is defined as 12 years old and under) cooking classes are available, must they must be accompanied by an adult.
Q: How do I cancel a class?
A: You must email us at least 30 days before the class to receive a refund, after 30 there is no refund.
Q: Will I receive the recipes of the dishes I create?
A: Yes, absolutely

Q: What do I need to bring to a cooking class?
A: A pen and pencil if you want to take notes, but we will give you all the recipes

A: YES, absolutely, a meal without wine is called breakfast!
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Registration is a firm commitment to attend the class. Any changes must be made at least 30 days prior to the class to receive a full reimbursement. You may send someone in your place if you are unable to meet the cancellation deadline. If you cancel a class within 30 days of class, you will not receive a reimbursement back for the scheduled class.

A: You will learn real restaurant cooking skills in a friendly, informative atmosphere. Unlike many of the “cooking schools” in Bologna we provide professional instruction in a real cooking/restaurant environment taught by trained restaurant chefs. You are not in someone’s apartment. You cook in a professional kitchen area. Our chefs are graduates of neighboring universities, cultured, friendly and helpful. They will work side-by-side with you to assure that when you complete the course you will be ready to duplicate back home what you learned in class. Having worked in restaurants, our chefs know the “tricks of the trade” and will impart to you skills to impress family and friends when you return home.
- 100% Hands On, Full immersion classes – Hours of Instruction
Many of the other culinary schools do a great deal of “demonstration” in classes. In other words, your class may include a four-course meal, but you are only preparing one or two courses. We don’t believe it makes sense for much of the meal to be demonstrated or done separately in another kitchen. You will have your own culinary, wooden work space and cook your dishes on your own individual stove top. With us, you will be 100% involved in preparing 100% of the meals. We list the hours of instruction our 1/2 day and full day courses are generally longer than average. We don’t watch the clock and often people are having so much fun, the class goes longer than expected.

- Diversity of Courses and How Much Instruction Do You Really Get?
We have one of the most diverse course offerings in Italy. From the most novice to expert, you will find our courses to be fun and informative. We have basic courses on pasta making (but did you ever make pasta by hand, with a 36″ long rolling pin, the way they have been doing it for centuries in Emilia Romagna?) to advanced. We specify the time length of each course, frankly its shocking to see many places on the net promoting a full day course for what we list as a half day course! Beginner cooks to professional chefs have praised us for adjusting our courses to meet peoples individual needs. So, don’t worry after you sign up for a course, come to Italy and meet with the chef/instructor he/she will make sure that your instruction is to your level of experience and will make sure you have a fun, pleasurable, learning experience.
